GlenMartin Launches New Brand Position, & Identity

Boonville, MO (December 17th, 2007) –

Today GlenMartin (www.glenmartin.com) introduced its new brand position and identity. The brand builds upon the organization’s rich, 90-year history while positioning GlenMartin as a leading global tower solutions provider. As part of the brand introduction a new name and logo have been unveiled

Sandra Martin, GlenMartin president, says, “As a family business, it was very important to incorporate our history into our new brand. Our new strategic brand builds on our successes and positions our company for aggressive growth. The creative is unique and reflective of GlenMartin. I am extremely pleased with our new brand position and excited to see our employees bring it to life to our customers.”

During the branding process, facilitated by Woodruff Sweitzer, it became apparent that a name change was appropriate. As GlenMartin has grown and the industry has evolved, the company’s focus has adapted to better meet customer needs by providing integrated structural solutions. To better reflect the company’s offerings, the new name drops the word ‘Engineering.’ In addition, the logo treatment merges the N and M to reflect a strong and unified company.

“Since GlenMartin offers so much more than engineering we felt that the name was limiting and potentially confusing to prospective customers,” said Beau Aero, senior project manager for GlenMartin. “By shortening the company name to GlenMartin from Glen Martin Engineering, we eliminate such concerns while retaining name recognition and positive brand equity. Plus the new, name provides a flexible brand foundation as we expand into new markets.”

The logo was inspired by the company’s brand promise, which is to view things from their customer’s perspective. The design is based on details from a self-supporting tower, one of GlenMartin’s core products. The lines in the logo are intended to represent integration, strength and boldness.

We are committed to providing the right solutions by looking at everything from the customer’s perspective,” says Tatum Martin, vice president of operations for GlenMartin. “The new logo clearly reflects the GlenMartin brand personality including our hunger for growth, forward-thinking approach and loyalty to customers.”

GlenMartin was originally founded in 1918 by William Christopher Martin as W.C. Martin & Son Machine Shop & Welding, and was located just outside Boonville. Glen Martin has since become well-known internationally for their highly-technical engineering services and structural steel products. From their Boonville offices, the company operates three local manufacturing and warehouse facilities, and also maintains international locations throughout Central & South America, Africa, and Asia.
